2nd Consecutive Platinum Award
 In May 2005, the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District won its second consecutive National Association of Clean Water Agencies Platinum Award. Two Platinum Awards represent 10 perfect years, during which the Metro District discharged almost 530 billion gallons of treated water into the South Platte River and completed more than 100,000 chemical and biological analyses that verify there were no numerical permit violations. The Metro District is the largest of five agencies nationwide that have achieved back-to-back Platinum Awards.
