Environmental Programs
In order to ensure the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District not only provides wastewater treatment but protects the environment, it is involved in numerous environmental programs. Among these programs are the Industrial Pretreatment Program, the Hauled Wastes Program, various water quality programs, odor control programs, hazardous materials training, and several programs associated with the land-application of biosolids.
The Metro District has also partnered with other agencies and is associated with several professional groups in order to ensure its operations meet regulatory requirements, demonstrate its commitment to protecting the environment, address public health concerns in its community, and provide for future needs.
