    Work Environment

By working for a wastewater treatment facility, you can take pride in providing such an important service to your community and in knowing that you are helping our environment. The South Platte River and a bike path/walking trail border our 177-acre, beautifully landscaped plant.

The Metro District is an outstanding organization and the winner of several EPA awards for excellence. The Metro District's reputation as an exemplary wastewater treatment facility is known not only in the U.S., but in other countries as well. The key to our success is our employees. We are very fortunate to have a group of very talented people working together to create a world-class treatment facility.

Our workforce is still small enough to know people by name and by face, and yet large enough to provide many nice features such as educational assistance, a health and fitness program, and a four 10-hour workday schedule in some areas of the organization.

    EEO Statement

The Metro District is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by state or local law.

    Compensation

The Metro District is required by state law to compensate its employees at prevailing rates of pay for equivalent work in the Metro Denver area. The Metro District's Board of Directors determines wages and benefits as part of its obligation to set prevailing compensation.

Included in the Metro District's benefit package are health, dental, life, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; a retirement plan funded by employer and employee contributions; paid leave benefits including vacation, sick leave, personal days, bereavement leave and holidays. The Metro District also provides some extra programs that employees can participate in if they want to. Examples of these are a deferred compensation plan, flexible benefit plan, an educational assistance program, and a health and fitness program.
