    Application Process

Job vacancies are posted internally as well as being advertised externally in local newspaper classified ads. Metro District vacancies are sometimes listed with appropriate websites of other organizations such as the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association (RMWEA) http://www.rmwea.org. Applications are reviewed only when vacancies exist.

Résumés may be initially submitted for consideration, but every candidate who is interviewed is required to complete a Metro District application form. Application forms are available HERE or may be picked up in person at the Metro District Administration Building located at 6450 York Street in Denver (*MAP). Résumés may be mailed or sent via e-mail.
Résumés and applications are reviewed by Human Resources and by the Department that has the job opening.
Those applicants who are selected to interview for a particular job opening are normally contacted by telephone to set up an appointment. In addition to bringing a completed application form to the interview, the interviewee will be asked to sign a "Release of Information" form to enable the Metro District to obtain both a criminal background record and driving record.
Human Resources and staff of the hiring Department conduct interviews jointly.
The entire selection process, including application review, interviews, testing, background checks, and drug screens, could take from two to four weeks.
With the exception of certain management level positions, the Metro District does not reimburse for travel expenses for interviews, nor does it pay moving expenses for someone to move here to accept a position.

All candidates who interviewed for a particular position are contacted after the selected candidate accepts the position.
