Industrial Pretreatment
The Metro Wastewater Reclamation District administers a metro area Pretreatment Program for the control of industrial wastes. The program’s purpose is to reduce discharges of pollutants from industrial and commercial sources into the municipal sewer system. All businesses, including industrial, commercial, and governmental establishments, that discharge other than normal sanitary wastewater must not discharge anything which will adversely affect the sewage system or its workers, or the sewage plant biosolids or effluent. - Details Here
Doing Business
Any responsible firm which can supply quality materials, equipment, and services at competitive prices while meeting the Metro District's minimum specifications and delivery requirements is eligible to sell to the Metro District. - Details Here
Engineering
The process of competitive bidding is used to ensure the Metro District receives the best price. Bids are solicited through public advertising on all Metro District construction projects. The normal procedure for advertising is placing the Advertisement for Bids, from the Bidding Documents, in the Construction Notices section of The Daily Journal on a minimum of two separate dates with the second advertisement occurring within the first half of the bidding period.
